Iron Range 2019
15th to 21st January 2019
Join Faunagraphic as we depart Cairns and fly into Lockhart during wet season to find and photographic one of Australia's best regions for localised endemic wildlife. Flying into Lockhart during the wet season will give us the best opportunity to see species that call the area that cannot be accessed via vehicle at this time of year.
Cape York has a long list of endemic wildlife species and this week will be spent locating and photographing them. We hope to encounter a wide variety of specimens that includes but is not limited to: Green Tree Python, Scrub Python, Canopy Monitor, Mangrove Monitor, Saltwater Crocodile, Yellow-billed Kingfisher, Papuan Pitta, Magnificent Riflebird, Palm Cockatoo, Eclectus Parrot Southern Spotted Cuscus and Southern Common Cuscus!
As we will be spending the week in Iron Range National Park our itinerary will be open and we will take advantage of local sightings and activity. This tour will include wildlife spotting both day and night on each day to maximise sightings.
